Organized by EUGBC, online meeting with the Ambassador of the United States of America, Kelly Degnan was held on September 15.
Within the framework of the online meeting, Poti FIZ Director Davit Ebralidze informed the Ambassador about the advantages of Poti FIZ and noted that it is an important part of the infrastructure-logistics chain created by the port and terminals in Poti.
The Ambassador was also briefed on the project, which was carried out in Poti FIZ with the assistance of the Georgian Embassy in the United States. This refers to the construction of a hazelnut processing factory, which was completed in the beginning of 2020 and is operating in a test mode. The main raw material of the enterprise is imported from the USA, and the final product is exported to the CIS countries.
In addition, the director of Poti FIZ was interested in grants provided by the US Embassy, USAID and the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC). His questions were related to the issues of how this opportunity can be used for both existing and new projects of Poti FIZ.
Davit Ebralidze thanked the Ambassador for his attention and cooperation with Poti FIZ and invited him to Poti FIZ to get acquainted with the existing infrastructure and current projects, as well as to attend the official opening of a hazelnut processing factory in Georgia.
